Read The Great Gatsby to start off the 20's then followed up with the German novella Tristan by Thomas Mann!

I gave both of them three stars, even though I love the prose of both Fitzgerald and Mann. :(

I think the whole atmosphere of money and capitalism in Gatsby threw me off so I definitely need to read another Fitzgerald to get a better taste of his writing. Would gladly take recs for his other books! :)

Hey everyone!

My name is Asli and I'm a Turkish Comparative Literature student. :) I'm planning to get an MA in Romantic Literature next year and my all time favourite is Jane Austen--who would have thought!
I would love to read more women authors in the coming year such as Elliot, Radcliffe and Burney and also read a Dickinson book!! 22 years on this earth and I still have never attempted a Dickinson. I'm really excited to be in a group of Classics readers and good luck to everyone with their reading challenges!
