I've got a wonderful TBR going for Classics this year. I'm really getting used to the language and writing style now so I am better understanding them. I'm rereading Little Dorrit right now and it's so wonderful. Some coming up in the next few months I want to read:Hester by Margaret Oliphant, The Last Chronicle of Barset by Trollope, and Northanger Abby - my last Jane Austen. I've tried reading it before but DNFd it. But I need to read it now because it's the last one of her's I haven't read. That should get me through the next couple of months.
Are there any "rules" or challenges that you are supposed to do during the #Classicsathon? Or do we just read as many classics as we can when we can?I'm reading Braddon's Thou Art the Man, and Dickens' Little Dorrit for sure.
This year I wanted to read one classics a month which I managed to do. So I'm going to try for 2 a month. I'd also like to try to read some classics beyond the Victorian/English language classics I tend to read. I might try some Russian classics next. Recommendations welcome!
I got The Professor by Charlotte Bronte and Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell for Christmas this year. I haven't read either one but I have read some of their other works and can highly recommend them!
Hi all, my name is Art, and I love classics. :-) I've started doing Victober for the last few years, and now this group will be like Victober all year long. My favorite classic writers are Dickens, Trollope, and Anne Bronte. I've read a lot of Victorian classics, but I am hoping to expand my classics reading in 2020 for this. Someday, I might get brave enough to start a youtube channel. Perhaps that should be one of my personal challenges next year!
