It seems like you would need at least a 20 for Lewis and for Embry at least a 22. Remember, that's just a baseline. The admission offices DO NOT only look at your ACT scores. They also look at a bunch of other thins as well.

Hope this helps!

1)what is the rate of applicants that actually get accepted to the program?

1)do your chances of getting in increase if you have experience?"

Ok, I looked up this apprentiship program at this website: http://www.plumberslu130ua.org/site/s...

It looks like an awesome program. You were right, they do not take application on line, you have to receive them at the office or from a recruiter. They had a ton of information on the site about the application procress and the program itself, but it does not say how many applicants they actually recieve. This could mean 1 of 2 things. (1) They didn't think to add the information when creating the page or (2) They don't limit the number of students ahead of time, meaning, they will take as many students as are qualified.

In response to your second question, it may help if you have some experience, but I don't think it will really hurt you if you don't. It seems like most of the apprentices DO NOT have experience, that's why you would be in the program, to learn to become a plummer. This does not appear to be a program for those who already know the trade.

I looked for a phone number to call in order to get more information, but couldn't see one. I'll look again and try to get some more info.

Hope this helps!

10121 Marek, I totally understand your concern. I just didn't want to hold your class back just because we are new together. That is why we voted on Wednesday to see what we would do.

Either way, we will spend the first 5 minutes of class working on the essay and then venturing down to the media centre to watch the movie. The movie is in no way mandatory, so if you would like to sit in the media centre and work on your essay you are more than welcome to do so.

Happy Report Card Pickup,

~Ms. R
10121 Haha I wish. I still have to be here during first period. I'm just in the office preparing to see all of your lovely faces. :0)

10121 Drum roll please.........

Our next unit will be: "Literary Analysis"

Get excited!!

This week will be our final week working with the personal narratives. After we work on this final draft we will be moving on to literary analysis. We've had a taste of this style, but we will be working closely with it throughout the next unit, loving it the entire time I'm sure. :oD

If you check out the "to read" bookshelf of the group you'll find that the entire unit will culminate in the reading of Franz Kafka's "Metamorphosis." If you want to get a copy of this story early I would suggest it. Having your own copy is always beneficial. If we get together as a class I can always bulk order some novels and it'll be cheaper. Either way, we'll have a class set for us all to share.

Have a happy Veterans Day!

~Ms. RThe Metamorphosis, In The Penal Colony, and Other Stories

10121 I'm really glad to hear you liked the Alchemist! We're going to be reading it really soon in our section. I hope it's twice as good the second time around. :0) I'm reading it now and I think it's awesome-tastic!

10121 Will,

You can still bring them in tomorrow, but I won't take them again after that. If we use them again for an assignment (and let's face it we probably will) then I'll offer more extra credit.

Smiles!

10121 Haha. I know what it's like to not like grammar. Believe me, I'm not totally amazing at it either, but we'll work on it and we'll all get better. I am willing to put money on the fact that you are not the only one in class not happy about the emphasis on grammar. It just takes practice.

I understand that grammar can feel very separated from the content we discuss in class, but understanding grammar will make you a better writer. It will also help you appreciate the pieces of literature you read.

It'll all work out :0)

10121 What are your favorite books? What are some bad ones? What books have you read that were just plain terrible ?

Why were they so significant? When did you read them? Did you read them just for fun, or where they assigned for class?
