This group is for writers/readers to get together to discuss and critique our own original writing in workshop format and to read and discuss published novels and short stories for inspiration, like a combination writers workshop and book club. If you love to read and write, and get inspired by sharing ideas with fellow literature and writing enthusiasts, this would be a great group for you. Inquisitive Writers and Readers Group is a group in Tempe, Arizona that gathers in person for combination writing workshops / book club meetings held at local coffee shops. The group is for writers/readers to be able to thoughtfully critique one another's work and receive helpful feedback on their original writing, while also reading and studying published short stories and novels for inspiration in book club format. The Inquisitive Writers and Readers Group is a safe space and all members are encouraged to put sincere effort into critiquing another writer's work with thoughtful suggestions meant to propel the story to the next level. All writers/readers local to the Tempe area with any level of writing experience are welcome to join the group and guests (friends and family of group members) are welcome to attend workshops. Our group posts regularly to our home page, which includes our workshop meeting outlines and agenda (posted in advance of a workshop event), workshop summaries (posted after a workshop event), and announcements. Our blog features writing tips, book recommendations, and related literary topics. These blog posts may be authored by the group organizer and/or members.

[close] I am one of those who have been there and done that. Now the topic that I would like to focus on is if it is effective and how efficient it could be. The purpose of group could surely range broadly from personal and spiritual growth to very practical approaches such as how to pitch and publish.
