[close] THERE IS NO GENE. super powers aren't passed from parent to child by their genetic coding. it isn't hereditary. just as there is no gene for being gay. oddly enough, it appears the two go hand-in-hand, as no cishets had displayed any form of 'queerness,' a term that had become associated with how members of the LGBTQ+ community began displaying strange and otherworldly abilities. queerness seems to be more mystical in nature, magical in origin. THERE IS NO CURE. though that hasn't stopped the government from trying to find a way to ride the world of superpowers and magic. attempts to find a way to check for it were done, all failing as the source of queerness isn't found in DNA, but in the immaterial essence of the immortal soul, not the ephemeral body. even still, people desire to find an end to this epidemic of strangeness, as not all use their gifts for good, but for selfish, perverse reasons. as the origin of queerness is revealed, those gifted with it must make a choice, to serve their own desires, or a far greater calling. what will YOU decide?
