[close] Dear Readers, Welcome to the UAE science book club! My name is Mareya. As part of my work inspiring young girls in the UAE to pursue fields in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), I have decided to create this book club as a platform for aspiring scientists and science enthusiasts to connect and learn together. As a science nerd myself, I have read as many books and essays about different science topics as I can get my hands on and have fully immersed myself in the subject. There is so much amazing stuff out there! Complex, inspiring, thought-provoking, and what might seem impossible to the average reader! I’ve been discovering so much that, at times, I’ve felt like my head was about to explode. I want to share my love for science by encouraging you all to read books you might not pick up at a bookstore, books that will stimulate your intellectual curiosity. The plan is to select and read a book every month, then discuss the work during the month’s last week (to give everyone time to read it!). I will post some questions/quotes to get things started, but I would love for this to grow into an open discussion with and between you all.
