[close] Hello! In this group, we will build a discussion around the texts which are essential to the quest of finding meaning in life. Books will mostly consist of literature and great works of fiction, with occasional non-fiction works on philosophy and psychology. Recommendations for books which are relevant to one's search for meaning are always welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay.

[close] Phillip: "...Fitzgerald Hemingway and Falkner had to wait until the 20s were in full swing before they became successful writers. There's also the longer gap between WWI and the Roaring 20's and WWII and the 60's. The world - and particularly the USA - took much longer to recover from WWII. A lot of fine writers left Goodreads when it was sold to Amazon, fearing their work had been sold with it. But we still own what we write. We should start a thread somewhere, inviting parallels between the two generations, then edit the results and we'd have a book to sell."

[close] Before the digital age and the current belief that "everyone has a story to tell," there existed a small core of writers recognized from childhood as gifted.I'm proud to say I was one of them.
