[close] This group is set up for Cirrus Logic WLT Book Club readers to share thoughts on the books we read together, as well as any others you think the club might like.

[close] SteamPunk Romance is a genre of science fiction that typically features love stories, steam/Tesla/gears machinery, & Happily Ever After {H.E.A.} endings. It is usually set in an anachronistic Victorian or quasi-Victorian alternate history setting. It could be described by the slogan "What the past would look like if the future had happened sooner" or "What if more than one avenue of technology is developed sooner". This secondary iSocial group focuses on romance novel existing within the following subgenres: Historical, Science-Fiction, Paranormal. MEDIEVAL STEAMPUNK: Speculative Steampunk Romance fiction set during the Middle Ages. VICTORIAN STEAMPUNK: A modern Science Fiction work (post-1930s) that is set in the early parts of the industrial revolution. WESTERN STEAMPUNK: Science fiction set in the American Old West. INDUSTRIAL STEAMPUNK: Steampunk taking place during the Industrial Age, early modern age; i.e. World War 1, World War 2, Wild Wild West, Final Fantasy 7, Van Helsing, The Time Machine, Hellboy, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Soulless, Clockwork Prince, Twenty Thousand Leagues, MODERN STEAMPUNK: Steampunk without the aspect of the past. That is to say stories that focus on a romance story with steam driven and/or Tesla driven technology. Imagine power sources excluding gasoline or at least how current technology uses it. Such as a fuel cell with gasoline inside of it may be acceptable. The point is to focus on alternate forms of energy and technology. Pure vampire and ParaNormal Romance novels are excluded. That is to say that vampires and other supernatural biological entities are welcome to exist in the story only with Steampunk or Science Fiction. There seem to be a myriad number of groups dedicated to exploring PNR and Vampire novels. So we believe they are adequately covered without us contributing to it further.
