How have they shaped our past and our modern world? We’ll explore how the major religions originated and spread, especially through a critical reading of how their sacred texts and shared beliefs came into being and why they were accepted as essential to the core of those religions. Religion is intertwined with culture and society in the fabric of our nations. This book club is more concerned with an understanding of religious history in the context of culture, society, and nationhood than it is about thinking about theology per se.

Who Can Join? Whether you're a devout practitioner, a spiritual seeker, or someone curious about the rich heritage of Hinduism, all are welcome. Prior knowledge of Hindu scriptures is not required; the group is open to people of all levels of familiarity with the texts.
