[close] From timeless classics to the thought provoking. This is a book club for all, and one in which we can explore various themes such as equality, conservation, and human rights. This can include fictitious stories revolving around a central theme of humanitarianism or non-fiction stories/accounts. As an advocate for human rights I wish to share what I have learned as well as get hear your thoughts. What better way to do that than through a book club! I plan to select and read a book monthly or bi-monthly (I realise some people, myself included, have busy schedules) and then have a discussion during the last week of the month before starting the next book. I will try and get a thread started with some questions/quotes to get us started and hopefully spark some discussion. If you so wish, feel free to join up and participate in the discussion. Reading educates and creates tolerance while deepening understanding of the many reasons one might flee and the emotional consequences of conflict. By sharing stories written by and about displaced people, we can inspire meaningful conversations about refugees across all 50 states. We welcome you to this nationwide book club where we can share our insights about these powerful stories, and ways we can come together as a community to help.

[close] A place to discuss all the unique aspects of Deaf culture as highlighted in the thriller Silent Fear (A novel inspired by true crimes) by Lance & James Morcan. This group can also be an intersection of sorts where Deaf and hearing people can engage and learn from each other.
