[close] The Feminist Book Club is a democratic collective dedicated to DIY education, respect, and community. The FBC aims to create a space to engage with feminist literature and other critical medias to facilitate growth and friendship in Vancouver's feminist community. We welcome everyone regardless of ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, or gender identity (this means that men are welcome to participate!). The FBC recognizes that there are multiple interpretations of feminism and we are interested in raising awareness by investigating feminism through critical media and visual culture. The FBC denounces the dismissal of the feminist movement as redundant. Showing solidarity within the FBC and the community at large we stand together in the margins to fight against social oppression.* Venue: Our headquarters are currently located at Spartacus Books,684 East Hastings Street Vancouver, Coast Salish Territory, BC. Accessibility info: The entirety of Spartacus' retail space is located on street level and the storefront and washroom accommodate up to 36" of access. We are interested in examining who are the learners of today and tomorrow and what are their learning strengths and needs? Where will learning take place? How will learning spaces be designed? What should be taught? What should educators be doing now?
