The Club meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month, at 10am, in the Kerwin Reading Room at Spirit of Life Unitarian Universalists in Odessa, FL. The Book Club typically meets from September through May or June. Our selections are from the ALA Notable Books for Adults lists. [close] A group that will encompass all who are interested in Florida History, Florida Culture, Florida-centric Literature, Florida-born Authors, Florida-born Writers, Florida-resident Authors, and Florida-resident writers. The Florida Heritage Book Festival (FHBF) hosts many events throughout the year in support of our mission. Members our Goodreads group will be kept abreast of current and future FHBF events and points of interest. ABOUT THE FLORIDA HERITAGE BOOK FESTIVAL: Each year The Florida Heritage Book Festival showcases Florida’s rich and diverse literary legacy with author presentations which promise to delight book lovers and provide inspiration for aspiring authors. And this year we’ve raised the bar even higher by presenting an enticing mix of bestselling authors whose body of work—in both fiction and nonfiction—is truly impressive. If you’re into fiction, you may have some tough decisions to make about which author presentations to attend. The same problem arises with nonfiction. We hope you’ll be here to help us celebrate the written word and the joys of reading. While the spotlight shines brightest on our Featured Authors, the Festival Marketplace offers opportunities for published authors and other vendors to interact with readers and buyers throughout Saturday’s Book Festival. Hourly drawings and signings by the Featured Authors keep the Marketplace filled to capacity.

[close] A place to discuss all the unique aspects of Deaf culture as highlighted in the thriller Silent Fear (A novel inspired by true crimes) by Lance & James Morcan. This group can also be an intersection of sorts where Deaf and hearing people can engage and learn from each other.
