There is never “not enough time” or “not enough resources” for you to get help. We are all here together, gathered in one place. You can meet people here and know that they have also struggled (or are struggling), and you won’t feel so alone anymore. You’ll meet people who get you.

[close] Dear Recovery Readers, I'm an alcoholic (that felt brave). As part of my recovery, I am trying to read as many books as I can about addiction, struggle, triumph and hope. Whether they are empowering, funny, thought-provoking or sad, there are so many inspiring stories that we can draw strength from, using them as the building blocks for our own sobriety. There is so much I want to read and learn, and I want to share that experience with all of you. The plan is to select and read a book every month, then discuss the work during the month’s last week. This means that everyone will have time to read it before we get chatting, but also we don't need to worry about timezones so people can join in wherever they might be. I will post some questions/quotes to get the discussion going - and hopefully it will grow organically from there. Where possible, I will also try and encourage authors to participate, should we get some momentum going. Whatever addiction you are struggling with, or even if you aren't struggling yourself but want to support someone who is, everyone is welcome. Welcome to Recovery Readers! Soberology x
