[close] A book club for people interested in books about achieving and maintaining sobriety. Loosely associated with the /r/stopdrinking subreddit, but anyone may join this group for discussion about our current book selection. Our first book is "The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober" by Catherine Gray, and discussions will begin January 1! I'll post discussions periodically that anyone is welcome to participate in, and members are able to post discussions as well. Members are also able to put books on the bookshelf and create polls.

[close] Hi! This group is for people struggling with mental illnesses. Please don’t post anything graphic. This isn’t about forcing people to recover- it’s about supporting each other and ourselves. There is never “not enough time” or “not enough resources” for you to get help. We are all here together, gathered in one place. You can meet people here and know that they have also struggled (or are struggling), and you won’t feel so alone anymore. You’ll meet people who get you.

[close] Two out of every three people have been touched in some way by addiction. This group is for discussing and recommending books dealing with the topic of addiction (any form), rehab, or recovery.

[close] My primary goal in writing SOME ARE SICKER THAN OTHERS has always been paint a truthful portrayal of addiction and the demoralizing effect it has on not just the afflicted, but everyone it touches. By putting my characters through the same hell I experienced with my own substance abuse problems, I hope to keep others from making the same mistakes I did. The purpose of this GROUP is to create a platform for those interested in learning more about substance abuse and recovery. You don't have to be an addict to participate. Because of its viral nature, this illness effects pretty much everyone; mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters...most people know someone who has or is currently battling an addiction.
