[close] It's 1923.The recent world war has shown wizards that muggle events effect everyone and has given muggleborns more of a freedom in the wizarding world much to the horror of many purebloods. Tensions are rising and many purebloods are losing their power, while muggleborns are gaining it. Alongside this rise in tensions is tensions abroad are increasing, and it has lead to the declaration of war by many foreign nations. Britain hasn't been dragged into the conflict yet but it won't be long.

[close] There's never a shortage of tragedy in the city that never sleeps. Everyone's got a sob story, and everyone's rearing to tell it. There are those who stay grounded by the world they live in, and there are other who choose to make something of their pathetic lives. Even if that 'something' is a little sinister and more than a little illegal. That's where you come in. With the streets of (Alternate History/Universe) New York controlled by gangs who's power is determined by the depth of their pockets, it's hard to avoid that government's fallen on the back-burner to the newest powers in the area. -- You're just another person living on the streets of New York City, New York. It's up to you what you make of your life, wether you join up with the mafia, become one of the detectives dedicated to rooting out the rebel threat (two references in one sentence, shoosh yeah!), or do something entirely different-- it's all up to you. But in New York, every decision you make has a consequence. OTHER INFO: This RP will begin in 1928, in an Alternate Universe, Alternate History New York. The key elements of the 20's (the mafia, the culture, the fashion, the beginning of the depression) unique will remain in place, but I'm going to allow the addition of things like Steampunk and Cyberpunk. Keep it classy. As far as plot, there's really not a super-strong one, it's kinda open range. But there will be things happening, like in everyday life. The rest will be covered in the introductory post and the rules.
