When the words just aren't coming for me I know it's time to backtrack to the place where my flow stopped and reevaluate the direction I'm taking the work. Sometimes that means stepping away for a day or two and letting things percolate for a bit. Usually when I come back to writing it's with renewed purpose and a different direction to take the plot. In that way writer's block becomes just another tool in my writing arsenal. I try not to fear it but embrace it.(less)

Looking at the picture later I realized it was perfect writerly inspo for some spooky midwinter flash fiction. Enjoy!

Mom said the kid with the black eyes isn’t real.

Feverchain by M.A. Knight
"Feverchain by MA Knight has been something of a craze on Substack, and I binged it almost as soon as it was finished.
The plot is interesting and developed, and the characters are outstanding. I really liked the half chapters that switched perspectiv" Read more of this review »
