This book has big Dramione energy and I was completely obsessed, there were so many paralells I was giggling into the pages (HE SMELLS OF GREEN APPLES & MINT & PARCHMENT HELLOOOOO)

The tension between Blake & Medra was hot as hell. They’re bonded mates who can’t stand each other (but also 100% want to rip each other’s clothes off) 😩 The mean banter, the angst & the slow burn payoff was perfection.

I was so lucky to be sent a goody box by HQ with a gorgeous matching bookmark and character art, and honestly it made me love the story even more. Seeing the characters brought to life like that really helped me visualise them and I was just so obsessed honestly.

I did try listening to the audiobook alongside it for immersive reading but couldn’t get on with the male narrator, so I switched to the epub and just bloody devoured it.

The side characters are adorable (I WANT A FLUFFIN), I loved Naveen and Florence and meeting all the new teachers. Its not the most complex lore or world building I’ve ever read but honestly that made me enjoy it more, it was just so easy to sink my teeth into 🤭 (pun intended) and I loved how Briar revealed all of the lore through Medra learning from her friends and teachers.

And jt wouldn’t be my review if I didn’t mention the spice. OH MY GOD the spice!!!! EXCELLENT!!! GIVE ME MORE! I am such a hoe for a bit of voyeurism… the peephole scene??? I need a baptism. Probs shouldn’t have read this while ovulating 🥵

I honestly can’t believe I hadn’t read this sooner. It’s everything I love in a romantasy and I don’t even care how long my TBR is, or that i’m on a book buying ban, I’m going straight to book two 😂
