Learn all you can about the genre and subgenre in which you want to write, what is of interest to readers, and write from the heart. Learn everything you can about the industry, then realize that you still don't know everything. Publishing today is fluid, and not like it was 50 or even 15 years ago. Edit, edit, edit - no one wants to release a product that's riddled with typos and formatting errors. Most importantly (and an issue I deal with on a daily basis,) come to terms with the fact that you cannot do it all on your own. If editing is not your forte, hire what your budget will allow. If you find Photoshop is not user-friendly, have a professional do your cover. Put out the best product that you can - not only for your own integrity, but for the pleasure you want readers to discover within your pages.(less)

Moore The idea for "Flip This Ghost" came to me while passing an old house in Melbourne, FL called the "Green Gables House", which the county is trying to s…moreThe idea for "Flip This Ghost" came to me while passing an old house in Melbourne, FL called the "Green Gables House", which the county is trying to save from demolition. It was built in the late 1800's, has historical significance, and my book is loosely based on its history. That, and my desire to remodel the creepy house myself if I had the money to purchase, brought the idea to fruition. (less)
