David Burrows is the author of the award winning fantasy trilogy the Prophecy of the Kings (Gold Award 2010 Readersfavorite.com) and the prequel Drachar's Demons. Prophecy of the Kings was also Book of the Month on SFbooks.com. Sample chapters and reviews can be found at David's website http://davidburrows.org.uk/.

David has lived in Blackpool, Liverpool, Edinburgh and he now resides in the garden of England, Kent. He was a Captain in the TA (2/52 Lowland), an experienced mountain climber and more recently has taken part in Saxon/Viking re-enactment. I think it's your subconscious and the deeper rooted the idea the stronger it is likely to be. Creativity cannot be rushed and if you do -- you run the risk of it being weak. (less)

Are Paid Book Reviews Worth it? Self published authors, beware.

Sadly, I have a poor opinion on paid reviews.

I sent off to one reviewer and I am certain from their response that they skim read a few pages only. Their comments showed that they hadn't read the story and had little understanding of the tale. They also made several glaring mistakes that showed they weren't familiar with the genre, fantasy. This is one of my biggest bugbears, that a paid reviewer m

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”

Victoria Simcox Hi David nice to meet you as well. I see you write fantasy. That's great! Your books look very good. Hope you do well with them. Best Victoria www.themagicwarble.com

message 3: by David

David It's horror aimed at teens, but it's quite good. A little short though. I pretty much read each one in an evening. My son had them so I had 12 books to read so I didn't complain. I normally like a longer book though

message 2: by Robin

Robin Hi, thanks for the friendship - how's the weather in VA? Weather in VA has been cold but we had some nice weather a few weekends back - got some bik riding in.

It's a little bit cold in the UK at the moment but we've had a few nice days. Sounds about the same as here.

Have you read Darren Shan? I've just read some of his, a bit short but not bad. Nope never had - what kind of stuff does he write?

Bradley I hope you are having a good day! =)
