Consuelo Montoya is a retired educator and emerging author dedicated to preserving her father's legacy through his poetry. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Consuelo graduated from St. Mary’s University in 1976 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and pursued a distinguished teaching career that spanned over three decades. Specializing in bilingual education, she impacted countless young lives, fostering linguistic and cultural connections in her students.

Consuelo Montoya liked an answer from Alan Brennert: How about a story on the paniolos and origins of Hawaiian slack key guitar? There are so many great players!! My the favorite was Dennis Kamakahi, but there are so many great musicians from Hawaii. Thank you! I've been doing some research into the paniolos but so far haven't found anything dramatic enough to sustain a novel. Mahalo for the suggestion though. Alan Brennert
