Haha I knew there was a reason I got into it!
It's noted in the book that her parents didn't follow the traditional Irish pronunciation, and as she's meant to rep Staten Island, I think it's meant to be pronounced AYE-lan or EYES-lan
Its funny because its mentioned in the book that its from the Irish name which means dream. That would be Aishling - pronounced "ASH-LING" but it seems to be an americanised version of that so that tends to be a bit more phonetic - the audio book pronouncing it Eyes-Lin
