I'm sure she means that the main female character became a follower of Christ, which is a more accurate way of saying the same thing.
Excellent point, Ellen. The church was not established until the Day of Pentecost, AFTER Jesus was crucified and ascended into Heaven.
A follower of Christ by definition is a Christ-ian.
Gosh, what a smarmy reply to a valid question. One who followed Jesus Christ during his time on Earth would have been referred to as a Christian.
She marries him, she doesn't follow him. There is clearly a difference.
