I'm sure she means that the main female character became a follower of Christ, which is a more accurate way of saying the same thing.
Excellent point, Ellen. The church was not established until the Day of Pentecost, AFTER Jesus was crucified and ascended into Heaven.
Gosh, what a smarmy reply to a valid question. One who followed Jesus Christ during his time on Earth would have been referred to as a Christian.
