Exactly! I first read this book when I was 9, but now rereading it at age 16, I find that it's a lot more serious than I originally perceived it as. I think my younger self didn't quite register all the heaviness, if that's possible. Truly though, Harry Potter is quite a dark series, despite it being a "children's book"
