It was May’s adopted mother’s family estate. The main plantation house was ruined in a fire but the little cottage that May’s adopted mother promises the adopted father he can build in the back for him to escape to and write his songs is where May lived and Judy would visit every Thursday. May’s adopted mother begs her husband to move away from Memphis to assure Mrs Tan wouldn’t try to blackmail them again and keep the girls safe.
