Jane Yes, you're right. I've never been to Alabama. I would like to think it's not nearly as racist and backwards as its reputation would suggest, but unfortunately, it seems otherwise.

I did follow the Roy Moore vs Doug Jones race quite closely in 2018 and rejoiced greatly when Jones was elected. However, is Moore actually going to run again in 2020?? The fact that he has a fighting chance to win speaks volumes.

Lora Tillman I am from Alabama- and just saw the movie Just Mercy- It is a shame that this kind of thing goes on to this day. But it does- There is racism from both sides, black and white. As far as white is concerned its a good ole boy system. As far as blacks they are just as bad, they are going to make every white person pay for the past injustices done to them. You have predominately black correction officers in prison, they are mean & abusive. The people in administration are rude, and lie. I know from first hand experience. Guards bring drugs and phones in the prison, prisoners pay a big price for them, in a month or so they do a sweep and take the phones up, then re- sell them to the prisoners. But that is another story. I can not believe that this Tate guy was re- elected 6 times after it was proven what he did to this man. Makes me ashamed of my state. JUst an FYI Doug Jones is a big nothing. I will not vote for him or Roy Moore.
