i hope so too.. i had the same feelings.. and i think that's what the author wants you to think in the beginning.. but i'm right there with you. she would not be a character i would want to read about if she was some old dudes slam piece he kept hidden away in a secret apartment.. GROSS!

I think Mark is her dad. She said when her dad married her mom he quit this job (I already assumed 'step-dad'. Then both bedrooms have twin beds. If it were a 'getting it on' type of apartment there would be at least ONE bigger bed. So I'm going with he's her bio-dad. Man I hope I'm right.
