Katy M Not the same thing at all. As a Black person targeted unfairly by the cops, still committed the crime. Wearing scanty clothes isn't a crime. Having said that, though, sometimes wearing more clothing is a good thing.

Derek OK. Sometimes wearing less clothes is a good thing. They're hot, uncomfortable, etc. Why are people still positing that it's a spectrum and more clothes is on the "better" or more responsible or morally superior end of the spectrum?

Suz It's exactly the same thing. The operative word in the OP, which he seemed to miss in spite of typing it, is "disproportionately."

Katy M But, they have still committed the offense. Should white offenders be arrested at the same rate? Absolutely. But, all drug offenders should be charged. No woman should be raped. See the difference.
