Outsider was not too bad. Her role was small in that book. The best King has done in the last 7 years is probably 11/22/63 IMO.
I agree that MM wasn't the best series, but it was a nice variety. Doctor Sleep (2013) was King's most recent great work as far as I see it.
Outsider was great and I recommend the read and this is coming from a HOLLY HATER.
My opinion only: The Outsider was It redux...
I couldn't finish Mr. Mercedes because it seemed like the written form of Rob Zombie's Halloween...
I couldn't tell whether I just really didn't like Holly or if it was the male narrator's impersonation of her voice that I had a problem with...
I just generally have not had good experiences with this whole offshoot of King's work.
She will not grow on you. Outsider isn't really very good, then Holly comes in halfway through the book and you want to punch yourself in the face.
