Priscilla Herrington I've been reading a lot of WWII book lately - and most authors get nylon stockings wrong! During the War, nylon was developed and began to replace silk in parachutes. After the War nylon stocking were made and much appreciated since during the War, silk stockings were pretty much non-existent and women reported to drawing a line down the backs of their bare legs to resemble the seam in stockings!
