Not all the lost children from the home were ever accounted for. Lisa explains in the postscript that not all records were even totally opened until the 1990s which was too late for many families. I think it says in the book that the sisters believed that Gabrion went to California. That could have made finding him much more difficult. I think it was lucky that all the sisters even found each other thanks to Travis grandfather's relentless searching.
