Shani Chen Wow, I'm really surprised that you and Cami don't share many similarities because you wrote her in such detail and in such realistic ways that I thought she took after your own personality. You really brought her to life! You are such a master at convincing others through your descriptive writing.

Yes, I remember that scene very vividly because that question is a question that burns upon my soul as well. It's wonderful that you were able to incorporate a moment from your real life into her story. Also, it's fascinating how your feeling of disconnectedness disappeared after you wrote Cami. It sounds like this book was divinely guided and an important piece of your life path. It stuck with you for 20 years afterall.

On that note, I can't believe you wrote the first manuscript 20 years ago! You are just a natural born writer. You wrote like a seasoned pro already. It's been a pleasure reading your work and I hope you come out with more books. You were meant to write Lisa!

L.K. Simonds Thank you for all these kind words, Shani! Really, really kind and encouraging. I have worked hard on craft, and you’d see that for sure if you compared the first manuscript to the published book.

L.K. Simonds And, Shani, maybe most of us wonder why we’re on the planet. I love this passage from Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, “ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
