Thanks for the excellent explanation!
wow that explains it very thoroughly. thanks. I couldn't be bothered trying to piece it out myself, it was so confusing.
Thank you very much for the explanation. I was confused on how the boat knew to be there but I believe your explanation was right on!
Thanks for the great explanation I did understand it in the book but didn’t think I was right because of how weird it got but you reaffirmed it by stating yes this was weird. So thank you haha
“The story reads as if the cobot Abbie really believed that she was going to North Haven to see the real Abbie” True, but in this other part of the story the narrator is the cobot fake Tim. At this point in the story, especially after Jenny’s modifications, the Tim cobot is an unreliable narrator. It is as he/it sees it, not necessarily as it really is.
What I don't understand (still), is why Cobot Abbie is still thinking about killing the real Abbie on the journey and only 'remembers' the real Abbie is dead when she arrives in North Haven, if actually she must've already decided to kill herself and save Danny by organising Charles, Lisa and Jenny etc to arrive on the boat. I really enjoyed the book, up to the end, but this just doesn't add up for me. Sorry.
I don't think she organized Charles et al. I think the AIs in the office did. There's a mention in Chapter 25 (per another answer) that mentioned them.
why did tim spend all that time pretending to abbie the cobot that he wanted her to find where she was? - why not just take her to North Haven at the start? -
Am I wrong in thinking the Abbie that Tim pushed was a cobot that was quickly created by Jenny and the real Abbie is in fact still alive somewhere waiting for her friends to bring her son to her?
I feel like Tim was more distraught over losing Abbie the cobot than thinking he lost Danny. After all, his company was his first love. To have this cobot think independently and act just like a human would have been amazing for him and his career if she kept progressing. Now he has to start the process over.
