Judy Johnson cisneros I thought it wash him too. Surprised ending.

JenBsBooks I thought perhaps ... especially there when the police came and got him (which ended up being to notify him for his father's death) but ultimately, Tate would have come clean before making Kya go through the trial/jail time.

Trish Sh(e)reader - i thought the same thing for a while and hated him for a while thinking that he was hanging her out there.

message 4: by Anne (new)

Anne I wondered if it was him as well. A couple of times in the book it talked about the definition of a "man" and one of the qualities was doing whatever it took for the people you love. I thought this was pointing to him. I was surprised and impressed by the ending!

message 5: by Joel (new)

Joel I did too. I thought that when the sheriff came up in the boat to tell him his father had died that he was coming to arrest him!!

Nicole Me too - especially since they kept on talking about his red hat

MaryAlice I thought perhaps Jumpin' or his friends "took care of Chase." I thought it was Kya due to some of her reactions in court.
