Well no. Not if it's in book six. *Gasp* I can't wait. So excited.
It doesn't answer everything. Eric seldom gets complete answers! But his presence in multiple Earth timelines is addressed.
If Eric was to go into space, how would the sun affect him? Since it wouldn't be a normal sunset or sunrise, he could park his ship in front of the planet to hide from the sun, or be in sunlight for say, a year. Mary could used this to have a child if she wished.
I had a theory of Mary jumping for 9 months to stay during day times but it would feel like constantly running and would not be good. How would longer days and nights affect them physically? Not just their body, but their night time ability or powers e.t.c
The current theory (Eric's theory) is that sunlight merely renders them mortal during the period of exposure--although the halfway states during sunrise and sunset transformations is a period of vulnerability. The sunlight, for some reason, suppresses whatever it is that makes him not-human.
In theory, they could take up residence on a space station orbiting the Sun and never have another *actual* night--just periods of light and dark inside the station to simulate a day-night cycle for sleeping and the like.
Also, in theory, they could have a child. Unfortunately, theory breaks down at this point. What effects would such an ancestry have on the hypothetical baby? Nobody knows, and there's only one way to find out.
However, for Eric and Mary, the long daytime exposure--the extended period of mortality--could have them age like normal mortals. Again, the theory is that the transformation of sunset "resets" them to their original state, so an eighty-year-old Mary would turn back into a young, twenty-something Mary.
But Eric isn't sure. He can't be sure without testing it. It's just his best guess.
When Lissette finally steps down from her role as queen, would Eric give her a new body like he's done for the mage with elf bodies so she can live a full life elsewhere as per her request? Or would he take her somewhere as she was and live out her mortal life. (If she didn't die before she could step down)
Well, would it have been considered then - maybe - offered?
What are your takes on Mary? You created her. Is she slightly over possessive and controlling? I have a love / hate for her myself. She seems to have no care for what he feels responsible for his 'pets' in being a... good as a leader as he can be; considering.
I wouldn't be overly sad if she died. I'd feel bad for Eric because you kill off all his friends and try to take his family from him. Seriously, it's almost as bad as games of thrones. I love it. But yeah, she made me mad a few times.
We already know Eric is--by and large--a responsible vampire. He's hesitant about making *any* vampire, because it can suddenly become a non-stop geometric progression. But if Lissette asks him...
As for Mary, you have to remember she's actually OLDER than he is. Much older. From a lifetime perspective--not counting time spent comatose!--he's still decades younger than Mary. Her viewpoint is colored by being an older, more jaded vampire, hence her tendency to be a thrill-seeker. And, since she thinks of Eric as an Ancient Evil From The Dawn Of Time, she doesn't understand his more-human viewpoint!
Ahh yes. I see what you mean. All in all, I love Mary; but she has her faults and aggravating moments. But who doesn't?
When Lissette steps down, will there be a going away party? I'd love to see (read... I envision what I read, really well) something. Tears and long good-byes.
My imagination with the living mountain and the flat lands, I can see Eric figuring something out and getting the mountain to spread and grow. Could it grow round and form into a spherical planet?
Could then this be Earth many many years ago when it was 'flat'?
Also / or, when earth was created, (another theory based on more scientific or Doctor Who logic) where asteroids joined together to form the Earth; could this be part of that world with the dragon and Holy Knight, where there are shards of 'earth' or 'dirt / ground' and they find a way to join these shards to be the planet surface?
Each planet shard that joins could even be a Nexis point!? (The Ascension sphere could have something to do with it?) Maybe. I'm running wild with theorys here.
Also, if it was the earliest point of earth, then Mary could be right, and Eric is somehow, apart of where these Ancient evils came from. (More vampires come around eventually)
The evil queen could have gotten around her creation of vampire block by not creating nightlords but what she turned into when she died instead because that's not what she agrees to not make.
It's all coming out. Kinda like word vomit but better, also a lot messier.
Now I wonder what's possible and what's just useless conjecture.
(The mountains heart would be able to be edited to be the start of the nexis, and the holes that let out the magic could be like air holes so it doesn't overload power? I remember Eric thinking that it was wasting power and he knew how to fix it and would go over it 'someday' and also, the mountain is worrying me with its need to absorb so much stored power.)
I'll stop now, I'm even overwhelming myself. Gees.
