Kevin King She also took advantage of the tides to travel faster than most people thought possible. It did make that clear in the story.

C Patel I am rereading, and it mentions how time is different depending on the landscape in an earlier part of the book. Maybe this gave her extra time some how.

Kim Her older siblings left clothes behind, I am sure that us where she got her disguises

MaryAlice I wondered about the disguise; her siblings and father's clothes left behind would likely be dry rotted after 18 years. Especially in an area where salt water air wears away concrete.
