I was thinking the same thing! Or Muhtar's son would make sense as well.
It would not make sense for it to be Muhtar since Ayoola says "this is my sister, Korede" as if introducing her for the first time.
It could still be Muhtar, but maybe he was there to date Ayoola. While he was in the hospital, he said that he hadn't met Korede's sister and couldn't judge her beauty. Maybe he met Ayoola without realizing she was Korede's sister. But if that's the case, he may not be victim #5, because he would realize that Ayoola was Korede's murderous sister and end the relationship before it started.
Nah, it's not Muhtar. He is in the past. This is Ayoola's next victim. The author introduced him to show that the pattern will continue until an outside force puts a stop to Ayoola's murdering ways. Koreded never will and she will never have a life of her own because of it.
If it was Muhtar the observation would not have been that the roses that the man brought were unimaginative.
