It was a general sort of plot follow. How many stories include a miss understood barbaric ninja nation for example.
I don't believe he's had nothing to do with the WoT books. sure he might not have read the whole series but...
I love Goodreads. I don’t think that’s the best advice for how to avoid plagiarism in the world of fantasy. He’d never have TIME to write if he read the competition. Plausible deniability is the best protection against plagiarism
I think your definition of plagiarism is a bit loose. It's impossible to not borrow ideas with all the content out there. I love the books PR is putting out, when i first posted that comment i was just a little shocked there some something so glaringly borrowed and adapted.
Not arguing the definition of plagiarism. I understand your original assumption. Just, it can’t be “borrowed” at all if they are on record as having never read them. And if I were an author I would read in the genre of my books sparingly to avoid the accusation you made without checking to see if it were the case. Like many probably. I’m more likely to say it’s cool to different writers came up with similar concepts independently than to search for evidence of plagiarism or borrowing. Not here for a fight. But the issue has been addressed. Completely.
