I agree and I also felt like maybe Frances was beginning to learn how to live inside her own body and overcome her issues with self-harm. She says near the end: "It was too cold to sit outside. I wanted to be warm again." Frances feeling better about herself will of course affect her understanding and acceptance of her relationship with Nick, whatever it turns out to be.
