J.A., another author, whose word I trust, said that Ms. Rice does not allow anyone to edit her work, and because she's Anne Rice and anything she writes will automatically sell a good 500,000 copies, the publisher lets her get away with it.
Wow, Gretchen, that's interesting. I had no idea. I can't imagine not letting my books go through vigorous edits--I guess I'm just not as smart or as skillful as Ms. Rice. Ehem. Well, there it is, then. :)
Tedious, if she used "and" one more time I was going to send her a copy of The Elements of Style.
