Wait....I think you are on to something...she talks about not liking herself in the mirror at the end, about this skin that isn't her own and blah blah...what if she did somehow take her identity and Paul knows and that is what the anniversary is of, of them planning this or realizing they were in love.
Maybe that IS it... Maybe Claire lived and killed Amber in the fire. But i find that unlikely. HOWEVER... the "three things" that Amber says is in line with Claire's diaries and how she writes. WHO THE HELL KNOWS I wish the author would explain things! MADDENING AS HELL!
