Fair response. I don't think I was. Granted this is about three years in memory, but I'm pretty sure it was the style of writing in describing the cases that the well ran dry. I've read a fair amount of true crime books, and stylistically this wasn't my taste. Thanks for the answer though JZ!
I thought it was an insanely clever title, because it's exactly what ran through my mind when I heard it first spoken.
I liked it, because I loved the stories, and the information, but there were times when it dragged. Good editing is dead. Read nearly any Erik Larson, Edward Bell, A.J. Abrams, Jared Diamond, Christopher Hitchens. Wordy savages, competing with Dickens with poorer plot lines.
Given all that, give me this. YMMV. <8)
