Very similar story. I was about 11 when I first read Pride & Prejudice, followed by several other classics, and now that I'm re-reading it I realise that I didn't fully understand it back then.
That was true for me too. I also read Little Women first, (although that was at the age of 11) and it sort of geared me up for older text.
