Lance Overall, I liked the book, especially the Oscar Wilde-style witticisms. But the protagonist did grate on me after a while. As a general rule, if you are going to force the reader to be in someone's head for the entire story, you better make sure the reader wants to be there.

Sarah I agree with you. I hated Life after Life but could not put this book down. I am going to read A God in Ruins because I liked Transcription so much. I realized I like Kate Atkinson as a writer but just found Life After Life pointless.
