I wondered that, too, about whether she had been the one in the car with Ronnie. Really interesting comments! Such a great book. I'm still thinking about it, which is how I know. That doesn't happen often for me.
I agree totoally...This was a book about past and presnet. She had been there for 5 years. Elsie kept her sane and less alone. Guilt was so tough,,,not true. I do not believe it was a lesbian type of love, but a true and deep best friend...
