Phyllis Griffiths Thank you. I have been re-reading my shelf of Darkover books hoping for new stories. I look forward to the upcoming books, and finding copies of Stormqueen and Thunderlord.

Jonathan Any updates? Pub date? Thx - a long time fan of MZB since about 1978....

Deborah Ross Jonathan -- I don't have a firm date for The Laran Gambit. It finally made it to my editor last month and my editor just had knee replacement surgery. The plan was for 2019. I'll post updates when I know them on my blog (which gets reposted here) and my newsletter.

I've begun work on Arilinn, the next-next Darkover novel, about the founding of that Tower.

May will see the release of Citadels of Darkover anthology, which I edited so I can say there are some very nifty stories in it. And I'm slowly working my way through a single-author collection of my own Darkover short stories (with permission of the MZB Literary Works Trust), including an unpublished story I wrote as a birthday gift for Marion.

Jonathan Thanks for your reply. I hope it all comes out smoothly. It's pretty great that you are carrying The Darkover universe forward. Might I suggest that the film market may be ready for some Darkover adventures? Any chance this is in the works?

Deborah Ross Thanks so much, Jonathan. I love hearing from Darkover fans. A few years ago the early novels (The Bloody Sun and following) were optioned as a mini-series but nothing ever came of it. I'm out of the loop in terms of being able to pursue it on my own, as the copyright's held by Marion's Literary Trust.

Deborah Ross Update: I just turned in the editorial revisions for The Laran Gambit. It will be published in November 2022 by The Marion Zimmer Bradley Literary Works Trust. We already have a gorgeous cover painting by Matthew Stawicki. Stay tuned for the cover reveal!

Deborah Ross Another update 11/2022: The Laran Gambit hits the stands on November 8. There's still time to enter the Giveaway (just click on the book title) for a hardcover copy.

I've turned in the manuscript of Arilinn to the MZB Literary Works Trust for their oversight approval. Once that's done, it'll go to my editor. It's scheduled for 2024, so there will be plenty of time for sneak peeks!
