I met Johnson the other day at an event where he was discussing the book and by the end I was quite convinced that he had done his research in writing this and that it is about as accurate as such a book could be. I was quite suspicious about the accuracy when reading the book, but he spent years researching North Korean life before publishing it and a surprisingly large portion of the book comes from real people's experiences.
