Lois have you ever refused to blurb a book because you didn't like it?
Well, I can't say whether I would like a book or not until I've read it. (If I haven't, I say nothing, as is correct.) There are genres and subgenres that are not for my reading tastes -- dystopias, horror, crime or true crime, anything ultraviolent. So I generally steer clear of those from the get-go.
Blurbs are voluntary, not something a writer has to fill in to get a grade or whatever.
