LadyCalico If the author didn't specify what it said, it didn't happen except in the mind of the reader. What a writer writes she owns the text and nothing exists in the life of her characters except what she chooses to write. What the author chooses not to write belongs to the reader and whatever the reader wants it to be is what happens. Thus, everybody's interpretation is 100% correct because that is what exists for them. "I'm Han Solo," "You're my sun," "Nothing ever ends" are equally real as "I love you." For me there is no doubt that the postcard said "Nothing ever ends" because that is what I want it to say.
