Clara is the woman at the end who writes the letter to Florian telling him about what washed up on her beach. (trying not to spoil anything.) I had to go back and read it twice. In the "item: that washed up, there were clues to others involved and that is how she figured out who to contact. I don't suppose that made a lot of sense but I hope it helped.
