Amara I totally agree with both of those statements. Seriously where were all these bullets coming from. Were they meaning to shoot other people like Bill or were they just such bad shots that while trying to kill each other these were just innocents being gunned down. Do 3D guns allow for that many bullets without time for reloading? I truly loved that book right up until the ending and that basically ruined my view of it. I'm not sure if he was trying to make a point that is bigger than the people involved. I was truly hoping he was going to have something about why he wrote what he did but sadly no. I think I need to try and find some interviews of him or something just to get a sense of what this was all about.

Daniel Holland I want to figure it out too. I know there must be a purpose for this ending, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I'm still thinking about it, which is good :-)

Peter Klehm I had a number of issues with the ending. Largely that it seemed so improbable in many ways. Particularly, as noted above, that so many people were shot by random fire, and, that those people all happened to be seemingly tied together somehow. It just seems like they would all have to have been right near those shooting to have been mistakenly shot as such. And, I had a picture in my mind, that these people were further away -- from the descriptions given in the book. I liked the book pretty much up til the point of the ending.
